Topped Up

And so our final weekend in the water begins. It has been a slow start with a lie in, a few coffees, both of us needing showers and breakfast before heading across to the fuel berth to top up with diesel.

Well I say top up but it took 166 litres so it wasn't really a top up but more of a fill up!

We are now out on the river for a little run into Saxilby which will make for a pleasant spot to spend the day.

  1. Hi, I enjoy your blogs. You certainly get about. I am in New Zealand and have an S23 like yours. Probably the furtherest South S23 in the world and probably the only one in NZ. We don't have the waterways you do but have just spent a week in the Beautiful Queen Charlotte Sounds. A 30 mile + trip to get there but in open sea over the ferocious Cook Strait. I need to replace my canopies and wondered where you got yours from? I can get them made here but they seem about 3-4 times the price you paid. Are they a universal fit? If so I may be able to get one in the UK? I suspect the clips are individual to the boat so I may have to go with a custom one here. Any advice please? my email is sailingsaxman@gmail.com Thanks

  2. Unfortunately they are all tailored to fit each boat and each boat is slightly different. The frame on each one is hand made so no two are exactly the same.

Thanks for your kind comments regards the blog. We try and use NC as often as possible. It is what we bought her for.

I hope you enjoy your S23 as much as we enjoy ours.
