Safety Afloat

We should all take our safety onboard seriously but sadly some don't for one reason or another they decide to skimp on potentially life saving equipment.

The time has come for us to change our smoke and carbon monoxide detectors on Naughty-Cal. Technology has come on since the current ones were installed and you can now buy a unit which contains both the smoke and carbon monoxide alarms  instead of needing seperate units for each.

As with most things as the technology progresses the price also drops and for the price of just £20 we will benefit from at least five years of peace of mind afloat. It just doesn't make sense not to have these detectors on board any boat in this day and age when the price has fallen so drastically in recent years.

They could save your life.

  1. Check the expiry dates on the unit. We made a huge mistake purchasing one for home from Amazon Marketplace the other year, the cheeky buggers sent us one that only had 5 or 6 years left on it when it had a 10 year warranty xx

  2. The one we have ordered has an inbuilt seven year battery so we are bargaining on getting at least five years from it.

Don't mind replacing after five years for peace of mind.
