We have made a good spot whilst fitting the new alternator. The belt had a small fray in the edge so Liam took it completely off to inspect it, no easy task on our engine as it is tucked away under other pullies and belts.
We are glad he went to the effort though as the 12 month old belt has not only frayed but completely debonded.
Glad we found it now and not on the coast!
It is now being replaced with a brand new genuine Volvo Penta belt. We are not buying Gates belts ever again.
