So it's all change with the weather again. From mild and decidedly wet to dry sunny but bitterly cold. Good old British weather!
Thankfully we left all of the heaters on the boat when we left on Monday so naughty cal will be nice and warm and keeping the frost at bay.
Meanwhile here at home we have the daily grind of waking up, staring at the car in disbelief, bickering over who's turn it is to scrape it, begrudgingly pulling on shoes and venturing out into the freezing temperatures.
Never mind. It's Friday tomorrow so we can look forward too a couple of days away from the mill.

ReplyDeleteYou need two car keys - one key for the ignition to let the cars engine run. Plus one to lock the car door again while you return back inside. 10 mins later, snug warm car with windows de-frosted. We did that on the cold frosty mornings for years just before we set off for work. I think from memory it took 6 mins at tick over. Unless is was a very deep frost. If you have a switch to recirculate the internal air then warm up time is a bit quicker.
Mick..
Ps Happy new year.
That's asking to get the car nicked where we live!
ReplyDeleteDon't think the insurers would be happy either. Only have to smash the window and the keys are in the car!
Still not my turn in the morning....
I made the assumption that your car like ours is on a drive. Thinking about our situation. We live at the end of a cul-de-sac and we park the car on a drive behind lockable gates. I never gave it a second thought about security.
ReplyDeleteBut it looks good out this morning - the boats all have a dusting of snow and curls of smoke rising from the stoves. Very picturesque.
Mike..
It is on a driveway but that don't stop the little twats.
