Day Five
Wells next the Sea

 Wells High Street, a once bustling street full of shops and pubs, now private residences.

 Alpaca trekking.

 Low water in the creeks.

Day Six

Wells next the Sea to Boston to Antons Gowt.

 With low neaps tides keeping the water away we followed the Harbour Vessel Frank T closely to stay in the channel.

 Not much water here!.

 Or here. The channel marker is not even afloat!.

 Finally out at sea and in deeper water.

 In the wash.

 There were several large vessels in the Wash today.

 Including this one heading out of Boston. The channel doesnt feel so big when you have to share it with these guys.

Day Three

Boston to Wells next the Sea

 Waiting for the tide at the Grand Sluice.

 Into the channel.

 Wind Farm Vessels leaving harbour.

 Past the beach on the way into Wells.

 It doesn't take the boys long to get the dinghies out to play.

Day Four

Wells next the Sea - Exploring the salt marshes.

 Another bright morning in Wells.

 First aborted attempt at exploring the marshes. Not enough water just yet!

 Take 2 and its go, go, go.

 Heading into the unknown.

 The creeks start relatively wide.

 With little bays and estuaries where creeks meet.

 But soon they start to get narrower.

 And narrower.

All very pretty scenery but we have to head back soon or we will run out of water!

Wells next the Sea 2015 - Part 1

Day One
Burton Waters to Bardney Lock

 Leaving Burton Waters on another adventure.

 After a brief hold up at Stamp End Lock due to a component failure the engineer soon has us on our way again.

Day Two

Bardney Lock to Boston

 Heading down the Witham

A brief stop at the Packet Inn for a couple of afternoon pints with friends.

The Final Furlong

So today we have the final leg of this trip,  the short hop from Fiskerton Fen to Burton Waters.

The rain is beating down outside but if the forecast is right should be stopping shortly.

We have a lovely shoulder of lamb to put in the slow cooker so that we have for this trip at least, one last home cooked meal on board.

Edging Closer

As we edge ever closer to home it has been nice to have a slow, relaxing plod back up river for a change instead of the usual mad dash for home.

Last night found us at Kirkstead Bridge,  although we had to be a little experimental with the mooring technique!

We enjoyed a lovely curry at the Indian in Woodhall Spa and the fridges are full with fresh local meat for this evenings bbq.

Homeward Bound

After a cracking run back across the Wash we are now homeward Bound slowly meandering our way back up the Witham.

Our Last Day

Today we are sadly heading back to Boston.  The weather forecast for the rest of the week doesn't look great so while the weather is fair and we can have a pleasant run we are heading for home and will have a steady amble up river towards home.
