Will We, Won't We

It has gotten around to Friday night, at long last, and we still don’t know what the weekend will hold in store. We hope that we can follow our initial plans and head down the Trent to Goole and on to Pollington for our curry on Saturday night. This will very much depend on water levels in the Trent being at a level where we can safely get there and more importantly back again.

Levels on the Fossdyke are pretty much back to normal levels so at the very least we will head to Torksey tonight with the intention of heading out onto the Trent. We will leave making our final decision on heading out for Saturday morning after we have had a chance to survey the river for ourselves in broad daylight. If it looks safe we will go for it. If not then it is time for a rethink and maybe a night in The White Swan for a steak pie and chips.

If we head out and decide it is unwise to go too far then we always have the backup plans of heading for the pontoon moorings at Gainsborough or for the safety of the canal basin at West Stockwith. A good night out is guaranteed at either of these destinations.

Who knows what the weekend will have in store for us. The weather looks fair enough to head out even with a couple of overnight frosts but we do need to get back sharpish on Monday as the weather is due to get a little bit wet again.

  1. Hi came across this after watching a youtube vid of Naughty Cal and Boundarys Vice who I am pleased to say I purchased 3 weeks ago from Burton Waters Lincon (under the name of Beau Reve) and she is now on our pontoon in Eastbourne on the South Coast. It was really nice to stumble across the footage of her previous life. Regards Matt

  2. You wont go far wrong with BV. She is a good little boat. We have spent many a happy hour in the cockpit of that boat. Hope you enjoy her as much as her previous owners have done.
