Stormy Night
We had an incredibly stormy night in Sheffield last night. The hot temperatures and sunshine giving way to torrential rain, a very impressive near continual lightening storm that lasted well over an hour and a tornado, yes that's right a tornado touching down in the city. See link below.

I didn't manage to get any pictures of the lightening, but I did manage to snap the pretty impressive storm front on it's march over the city.

Shedding the Pounds
It had gotten around to time for a serious declutter on Naughty-Cal at the weekend. So on Sunday morning whilst moored in Saxilby I set about the arduous task.
Now Naughty-Cal is only a small boat so where does it all come from?
I have only tackled half of the boat so far and already I have taken out two large black bags of rubbish. I mean just why were we carting around two out of date bottles of bitter lemon? So the galley is decluttered, the shower room is decluttered and thoroughly cleaned out and the port side under seat locker is cleared out. Which just leaves the midships berth lockers, the starboard under seat locker, the bow locker and a locker in the cockpit to sort out. This can be next weekends job.
It would have been interesting to weigh up the contents of the bags and see just how much extra unnecessary weight we have been carting around for the last few months!

Autumn is Here
Summer has most definitely given way ti autumn now, It was still dark when we got up to head to work this morning. The drive from Lincoln to Sheffield was mostly in the dark with the sun just peeping over the horizon as we hit the outskirts of the city.
Despite the year steadily marching on though the weather for this week looks set to be unseasonably warm with the possibility of the highest September temperatures since 1906, if you believe the weather forecasts.

Curry Night
We eventually settled on heading to Saxilby last night and had a curry in Spice Mystery.
It didn't start well with some staff mutiny and a member of the serving staff going home. But the remaining staff turned the evening around and we eventually had a lovely meal. They couldn't do enough for us.
We will be back.

Damp and Dreary
It's a damp and dreary day on the Witham today. The rain is hammering down on the roof and giving us no incentive to get out of bed.
We had a great evening in Lincoln enjoying a few beers in the Rogue Saint before moving on to the Mailbox. Then walking back to the boat with a grilled chicken wrap.
We might get up soon and head out in search of food.

Milling Around
With the weather looking none so clever for this evening, overnight and into tomorrow we have decided not to stray too far tonight. We have settled on the short trip into Lincoln.
There are plenty of bars, pubs and restaurants to keep us entertained this evening and tomorrow until the wind and rain blows over. We may even partake in a little shopping tomorrow whilst in town.
After that we are still undecided. We don't have much we need to do to the boat, perhaps a little tidy up and a couple of cupboards could do with a bit of a declutter but other then that nothing pressing. So it looks like we can have another relaxing weekend of simply milling around.

Decisions, Decisions
With the Sierra sort of fixed for now, well the pipes are now fixed and replaced respectively so no more water leaks but another fault has now materialized with the electric fan that needs rewiring, we can start to look forward towards the weekend and what plans we might have.
In typical fashion the weather looks set to turn wet through tomorrow evening and into Saturday and again on Sunday into Monday so I guess we won't be straying too far afield.
The tide times to get out onto the Trent are reasonable mid afternoon tides but they are only very small tides so we will probably give that way a miss which leaves us with the option of staying on the Fossdyke, which we did last week or heading down the Witham.
Decisions, Decisions.
