Oops!

We got the rear lights fixed on the Sierra last night and called it a day at that deciding to do the coolant hose tonight instead. 

So out comes the car today and on the way to work we notice, unusually steam coming from under the bonnet, rather unhandily we are in the queue for a rather busy roundabout so couldn't stop to investigate there and then. As quickly as we could we pulled over, by now the steam pummeling out from under the bonnet. 

Quickly parked we realise there is a rather large puddle of water forming under the car. 

Panic over it is just a split water hose, unfortunately not the one we were going to replace tonight. So now the hunt is on for another obsolete part. Luckily this time there is enough play in this pipe to cut the split out for a temporary fix.

Fixing Bits and Bobs

With only a few short weeks before we head to Cornwall in the Sierra we have turned our attention to one or two little niggly jobs that really do need sorting out before we go.

Tonight it is the attack on the rear lights. The passenger side rear light cluster has a mind of it's own, sometimes working, sometimes not, sometimes choosing completely the wrong light to illuminate and sometimes just working as it should. Clearly this must be sorted out so tonight Liam is going to rewire the lot. I predict much swearing this evening then.

Another little job is replacing a section of water hose that has developed a small leak. Again shouldn't have been a big job but you can't buy the pipe anymore in the UK so it has had to be delivered from Germany. With this new pipe fitted the water system should be water tight again.

And lastly there is a really annoying squeak to get to the bottom of. When ever you drive over a bump, of which there are very many on the roads of Sheffield it squeaks. Very annoying and must be found before we go to Cornwall or it will drive us both mad.

Hunkering Down

What a fantastic weekend in the company of good friends. Even the damp and dreary weather couldn't dampen the spirits and there were plenty of those drunk as well!

We all had a slow day yesterday to help recover from Saturday evening, the weather wasn't ideal for anything other then hunkering down and chilling out.

We had a pot of lamb curry simmering away in the slow cooker for much of the day, the smell wafting around making us increasingly hungry as the day progressed. By 7pm we finally caved in and tucked in. 

A Great Evening

A great evening was had by all in The White Swan last night.  As always it was a fantastic event raising money for a good cause.

There are one or two hangovers this morning though.

A Quiet Evening

We had a quiet Friday evening in Saxilby knowing full well that this evening will be a heavy one.

After a quick cruise into the sunset we settled in with a few beers and a nice meal of sweet potato, chilli and cod fish cake with kale, beetroot and broccoli stir fry before heading to bed.

To The Swan

It it the day of the annual charity event at The White Swan in Torkesy tomorrow, so as usual we will be heading down in force to support the day.

Last year involved me somehow getting roped into fire walking, hopefully none of that for this year!
