The Lock Keeper - May 2016

What with prior engagements and the slightly hit and miss weather so far this year we have not made an appearance at any of our usual classic car meets yet this year. Well we decided it was time to change that yesterday and attended our first meet of the year at The Lock Keeper in Worksop on the banks of the Chesterfield Canal.

This is a friendly low key meet which is organised for the second Wednesday of the month from April through to September. There were not a great many cars in attendance last night as the weather was not fantastic but as the summer months progress it will increase in numbers.

Despite the low number of cars present there were still some interesting motors around and we managed to convince our boating friends Alan and Mandy to come along for the first time in their AC Cobra replica. We also enjoyed what has to be said was a surprisingly good curry in the pub as it was their curry night with a choice or curries served with rice, naan, poppadom and mango chutney and a pint for £7.95. You can't go wrong really at that price. I had a Vietnamese vegetable curry which was really very good.
