For the first time in her ten years of registration (well not quite her tenth "birthday" is on Sunday), the trusty Datsun failed her MOT.
Whether she was sulking because we didn't take her to the only place that has ever inspected her I don't know, but on Tuesday she was sent home with her tail between her legs and orders to replace her broken suspension spring.
Now you would have thought you would notice a broken spring, but apparently not. The car drove absolutely fine with a whole coil missing. And from how rusty the broken end was it has been like this for some time, yet neither me nor Liam had noticed. The car drove straight and true and didnt even seem lob sided.
So on Tuesday night Liam fitted the new spring and yesterday despite the falling snow managed to make it back to the testing station so they could retest the car and issue a new MOT certificate for another twelve months.
It's a busy time of year this. My car is now sorted for another twelve months, next up it's Liam's Sierra's turn for a test and then on top of all that we have to get Naughty-Cal back in the water. I will be glad when January and February are over!
